Unlike traditional brushes meant for sweeping strokes, the 1511 is designed for a "pouncing" or dabbing motion, soft blending and subtle color application.

Refined craftsmanship: Handcrafted with high-quality, resilient Fitch hair set in a metallic quill, it offers the perfect balance of stiffness and softness required to manipulate pigment on the porcelain surface. It is highly prized by porcelain artists for its ability to "soften" or "mottle" transitions, allowing you to break up harsh brush marks, create realistic skin textures, or render soft, hazy backgrounds and foliage with precise, granular control. The "Mottling" Technique: the 1511 is excellent for reducing brush marks. We advise that keeping the brush clean and relatively dry it ensures the stippling effect remains crisp and doesn't become "muddy."

Maintenance Note: Because stipplers are used for dabbing, the tips can splay over time if pressed too hard. The technique is to "tap, don't press" to preserve the integrity of the fitch hair.
